Back in Algonquin for newspaper (Bergen NJ Record) interview with reporter Larry Chollet in Oak Bar. Photo session, then hour-long talk. Lunch with Gwyn across street at Royalton. Vintage offices at 2.30; filmed interview (“talking head”) for “Songs of the Civil War,” a PBS documentary. Fee $250. Back to Algonquin; rested till 7 when limousine arrived to take me across G. Washington Bridge to Ft Lee N.J. for TV interview at 8.20 with Boyd Matson, CNBC (cable station), — “The Real Story.” Back to Algonquin by 9.15; had lamb chops in Rose Room. Then to bed, all commitments met. |
