TranscriptPost office; mailed “Greenbrier” to Carter in Birmingham, with note saying Rosen will hold off on it till I hear of results.
Video Magic; returned cassettes. Sent Hugs the bi-monthly $600, plus another $300 from Gwyn. Wrote to Herman Golbb, Doubleday, thanking him for the bound proofs of George Garrett’s Entered from the Sun; said I’d stand by previous blurb. Gwyn & I went to the Quartet & saw “Glory” for the first time since the premiere in New York in December. It’s not as good as I hoped it would be, but it’s a damn sight better than most – especially war films. Had dinner afterwards at a nearby Chinese restaurant. Home by 8.30. Suzanne Marrs of Milsaps [sic] called to give me details of next week’s schedule there. Will stay at Buie House on State Street; classes at noon on Tuesday & Thursday; lecture for public on Wednesday evening. Get there Monday for dinner; leave Thursday or Friday. |
