TranscriptBob Loomis called from Random. New printings of Vintage (softback) War due Jan. 17 — Vol. I, 15,000 copies; II. & III., 10,000 each. Total, 35,000 — added to last year’s 321,000 brings it up past 350,000 copies, with royalties of about $1 each. Volume totals now are: 1. 112,000. II. 95,000. III. 92,000, all in the past six months, XXX plus 1900 three vol. boxed sets, with another 57,000 copies, bringing total to 356,000. Incredible.
Haircut; got this ledger, “Daily Reminder.” NOTE. Back in December (just as Random ran out of books) Loomis informed me that, so far in 1990, 8700 hardback copies had been sold. God knows how many could have been sold if they had been available. (Also gave comparable figures for 1988 & ’89 – 491 & 580. Quite a rise.) |
