TranscriptGood to wake up in my own bed again.
Filled in this journal; answered urgent letters; finished Cossacks. Long telephone interview (35 mins.) with Nick Addie, editor of Army-Navy Times. Walked 2 1/3 miles in 39 mins.; played Britten’s Cello Symphony. Called Rosen; told him about success of L.A. publicity trip & urged him to see that Random & Vintage have books in stock to meet the demand created by the TV show. Also told him of Cybill’s commitment to shooting-start for “Memphis” in early November. Bad news again for Sarah, who is barely rested from her three-week California vigil by the bedside of her dying son (AIDS, alas): Word came that he hasnt long at all to live, & she is flying back there to be with him at the end. |
