Took off on schedule at 4.15 – American, Flt 631; arrived Dallas 5.51. Taxi to Loews Anatole, a village unto itself, with several large “atriums” & at least a dozen dining rooms offering various cuisines, from Tex Mex to fancy French. Large comfortable room, picture window with view of skyscrapered downtown Dallas five miles off, & king size bed. 100-degree heat, but A/C had the temperature down around 70. Swank dinner with planners: Ken Burns & daughter Sarah (7), Owen Comora & wife, Dick Prince, Rockeffeller’s [sic] wife, Lynn Novik. Lunch meeting tomorrow with presentation of 11-hour War film to 1200 PBS representatives. Bed by 10.30. |
