TranscriptNo call from Boston; so I called Tom Gulick in Detroit & told him I’d be glad to come up there on June 13 for rehearsal. #2 will come next day, with a performance that evening. Next day, a Sunday, is idle. Then on Monday the 16th there will be an afternoon performance, which ends the job. All expenses, travel & hotel, will be paid by the symphony — plus a $15,000 fee! I was amazed; Boston had offered $2000. I told him I considered this generous, which it certainly is. Letter-contract follows.
Tom primed the bedroom walls; will paint them & the shelves tomorrow. FedEx’d the Robert Johnson side-bar to Richard Snow at American Heritage. |
