TranscriptLocal AP man came by for a “profile” interview to accompany the Williams piece. Likeable fellow.
Called Craig Black, “Classics on Tape,” & told him of nonarrival of Parts 1 of Vols. I & II, also XXX blank tape in Vol. I. He’s mailing all these to me right away. Haircut. Call from CBS executive wanting to know if I’d serve as historical advisor of a new (fictional) program for next season: I said it would depend on how well they were going to make it, etc. He answered me it will be first-rate (which, he said, was proved by them wanting me as an advisor. I referred him to Rosen; then called Rosen to alert him. Wrote to Roy inclosing [sic] the memorial to Walker from the So. Atlantic Review. Dinner with Billy Reed at “Harry’s”. Drove later to Mud Island development & West Memphis truck stop. Home again, watched “Girl in the Swing” an unsatisfactory fantasy. |
